Create: Superheated Lava
Turn intense heat into a new part of your Create factory. Produce Superheated Lava, process sulfur, improve materials and build automated production lines—from liquid-fueled burners to resource multiplication and excavation.
Heat that does more
Ordinary Lava fuels Blaze Burners at normal heat, while Superheated Lava provides superheat.
Use Heat Exchangers to heat Create boilers with ordinary or Superheated Lava. Connect multiple exchangers into a shared structure, control shutdown with redstone, and recover ordinary Lava when cooling Superheated Lava. Exchangers also operate without a boiler and damage entities touching their active hot surfaces.
Water goes into the Create boiler, not the Heat Exchanger.
Build your production chain
- Process netherrack into pieces and sulfur, then press and wash sulfur into useful materials.
- Use Diamond and Netherite Mechanical Mixers for higher-tier processing. Renewable diamond and netherite production requires the Netherite tier.
- Improve alloy production and use Sulfur Reagent to enrich iron, copper and zinc processing.
- Produce Rubber, cushioning blocks, fall-damage-reducing boot soles and repair kits.
- Explore additional Superheated Lava recipes, including Crying Obsidian, Magma Blocks and the little needooh slime companion.
Treat and protect materials
Heat Iron Sheets using 250 mB of ordinary Lava in a Spout, then quench them with 250 mB of water in another Spout. Use the resulting Tempered Iron Sheets in heat-resistant construction.
Build protected channels and factory enclosures from Refractory Bricks, Heat-Resistant Cladding and Refractory Glass.
Superheated Lava also provides a separate protective treatment for eligible items. It protects them when dropped from ordinary fire and lava; naturally fire-resistant items can gain protection from Superheated Lava too. This does not grant fire resistance to the player wearing or holding them.
Automate excavation
Craft Tunneling Charges and their advanced variant with Mechanical Crafters. Use them by hand or with a Deployer.
Automated excavation collects drops into the Deployer or available contraption storage. Advanced charges clear a 5×5×3 area, while protected blocks remain untouched.
Learn in game
Ponder scenes explain recipes, machine placement and practical uses. Seven advancements guide progression, including challenges for the Netherite Whisk and sulfur-based netherite production.
The mod includes English and Russian translations. Missing translations in other selected languages fall back to English without changing the rest of the game.
Handle Superheated Lava carefully
After 60 seconds of continuous direct contact, Superheated Lava can destroy ordinary blocks without dropping them. Use refractory materials to contain it. Unbreakable blocks, block-entity containers and protected machinery are excluded; doFireTick=false disables this block-melting behaviour.
Fireproof walls do not protect a player standing inside the lava.

- The NeoForge edition includes optional liquid-fuel integrations with Create Aeronautics / Simulated and Create Propulsion: Simulated. These integrations are not features of the Fabric or Forge editions.
